Annual Aster's are a great additiuon to the garden, not to be confused with the perennial Aster, Michaelmus Daisy, Annual Aster or commonly know n as China Aster are late summer, well in to the autumn bloomers.
Sown indoors from March onwards, usually requiring a propagator to ensure better success for germination. Harden off and plant out once the risk of frosts have past. Annual Aster is generally not hardy. The flowers can be single, semi double or double, there are several different colours. In essence there are plenty of different varieties to choose from. As with most plants, dead head the flowers to prolong the flowering season. Some of the taller varieties may need support.
At the end of the season just remove the plants and discard.
